Thank you once again for entering our event in support of Wickersley Youth Junior Football Club.
Wickersley Youth Junior Football Club would like to wish all participating teams the very best of luck during this tournament. We are committed to making this tournament a FUN event to be enjoyed by the whole family. Please instil in your club representatives, players and parents, that abusive and unsporting behaviour at any level will not be tolerated. All persons involved in this event should be treated with respect, none more so than the Referees. Any persons breaching this basic requirement may be asked to leave the grounds and risk compromising their team's further participation in the tournament.
Your team has entered our tournament, which takes place over the weekend Saturday 5th (9v9 & 11v11) & Sunday 6th (5v5 & 7v7) July 2025 at Wickersley School and Sports College, Bawtry Road, Wickersley, Rotherham. S66 1JL.
The only access to the venue will be via the main car parks and following the signs to the pitches. Please do not attempt to gain entry to the school grounds via any other means.
PLEASE NOTE: AS THIS IS AN EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENT, DOGS AND OTHER PETS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED ON THE GROUNDS. The only exceptions will be Guide Dogs and Hearing Dogs for patrons requiring them. ENTRY WILL BE REFUSED TO PERSONS ATTEMPTING TO BRING PETS IN CONTRAVENTION OF THIS RULING, so please let your players and supporters know in advance to avoid any embarrassment and disappointment.
ALCOHOL will NOT be permitted to be brought onto, or consumed on, the premises and grounds.
The Car Parks will be open from 8.am. On arrival at the school, please follow the directions of the Parking Marshalls who will be clearly visible and will guide you to a car parking space. Parking is limited, so car-sharing would be advantageous and will ultimately speed up your arrival at the venue. There will be a charge for Car parking of £3.
Under no circumstances will parking be permitted on Lings Lane off Goose Lane as this is a narrow road and is the only access for the emergency services. Any vehicles parked on that road causing an obstruction will be removed at the expense of the owner, so please ensure this is passed out to your players and parents. Any other parking on surrounding streets should be avoided, however, if necessary, then please respect the access rights of the residents. Again, the local Police have been informed of this event, and we have been informed that any parking offences or obstructions of driveways etc. may result in the removal of the vehicles without further warning. Thank you for your cooperation with this courtesy.
Registration will be open from 8.15am. All managers are required to register their teams by 9.30am at the latest.
From 9.30am onwards, Manager’s Briefing will take place at the stage where the format and Rules of the tournament will be run through, and any queries will be answered. There should not be too many queries as the rules are as per the FA guidelines for the formats being played and a copy of the rules are attached for your familiarisation.
Toilets are in the main school block, away from the pitches so please allow sufficient time to get there and back!
The game durations have been allocated to comply with the latest restrictions imposed by The FA in their Standard Code of Rules for Youth Football. Please familiarise yourself with these prior to submitting any queries regarding playing times.
Matches will commence at 10am prompt on your allocated pitches. (See Tournament Pitch Plan for pitch layouts). Please pay attention to the Pitch number the fixture is allocated to, as it MAY be that you will play fixtures on different pitches over the day.
The Tournament Referee’s have been briefed to be strict on keeping to the schedule for the matches. Therefore, teams are urged to be at the designated pitch for their next fixture at least 5 minutes prior to the end of the previous game. Failure to do so MAY result in that fixture being forfeited as per General Rule No 9.
All matches should be finished by 4pm at the latest but some age groups will finish earlier.
Certain areas around the pitches have been designated as technical areas. Supporters should keep these areas clear for coaching staff and players only. The rear of the goals should also be kept clear of supporters. Any other areas may be utilised. Supporters and Managers are urged to refrain from entering the playing area of the pitches whilst games are in progress. Respect markings will be laid out which should be always adhered to.
Gazebos/shelters etc are welcome but should be erected thoughtfully.
Hot and Cold refreshments will be available from 8.15am through to the conclusion of the event. Rubbish bags will be provided to managers at Registration. Please urge your players and supporters to use them and then drop them off in the large bins at the entrance / exit to the pitches as you leave.
Various other forms of non-football entertainment will be available throughout the day. Please ensure your children are appropriately supervised on and around these attractions, which are used entirely at the customer’s own risk.
Sue Lunt Photography will be recording the event this year and prints will be available at their tent prior to leaving the event. If you or any of your players do not wish to be photographed, please point this out to the photographer(s) on the day and they will ensure no recordings are made of that child.
Parents wishing to photograph their own children, players and team should do so whilst exercising the normal courtesies and permissions from the other managers. PLEASE BE SENSIBLE ON THIS CONSESSION.
Finally, we hope you will all have a fantastic football tournament and enjoy the entertainment and experience of the day. We look forward to meeting you and your teams on the day and hopefully welcoming you all back in future years.
